On August 17th, our industry saw a major shift in the way we do business. But what I’m finding is that while the path may have changed, the destination remains the same. 🏡
I’ve been getting a lot of calls from other agents about whether my seller clients are willing to pay buyers’ brokers compensation. In every case so far, they are willing because they know it benefits everyone — attracting more buyers and ultimately netting them more profit. Buyers can use loan leverage to achieve higher prices versus coming out of pocket to pay buyer’s agents, meaning Sellers can net more profits. Yes, it sounds a bit counter-intuitive. 💼
Whether I’m representing sellers or buyers, I haven’t come across an instance where the seller refuses to pay the commission. Headlines might suggest otherwise, but as of now, it’s business as usual for the most part! 📝
Yes, there’s a bit more paperwork and a few hoops to jump through, but that’s part of the evolving process. We’re here to navigate these changes smoothly and achieve great outcomes for both sellers and buyers. We adapt and creat wins for our clients regardless of change! 🙌

Starting in mid-August, the way we work with buyers will change. A new requirement, the Buyer Broker Compensation Agreement, means that before showing any property, both the buyer and the agent must agree on how the agent will be compensated. This new process ensures a clear, committed relationship between buyers and their agents. It’s a step towards professionalism and better service for buyers. Stay tuned for more details!
